I participated primarily in athletics and dancing during primary and high school but, like many people, did little to no exercise after leaving school. I have first hand experience of using diet and exercise to lose weight. I lost 30kg (dropping from a size 16 to an 8) over a six-month period and have maintained that weight for eight years.
Although my work as a Personal Trainer keeps me fairly fit, I also have my own training program which I engage in six days a week. The main principle of my own training program is the same as what I advocate for my clients: balance. I combine a regular program of weights with walking, jogging, pilates, yoga and the occasional aerobics class to ensure I’m constantly challenging myself and avoiding any overuse injuries.
